Well Services

Well Drilling

Our facility currently operates with 5 rotary rigs, each one run by a two-man crew. We offer drilling for both residential and commercial jobs in most surrounding PA counties. Our services include drilling for domestic, irrigation and public water wells, monitoring wells, test wells, and geothermal boreholes. Please refer to our Geothermal page for more information on our geothermal services. We also offer well repair services if you find your well is not satisfactory. Our men are equipped to come out and install well liners alone or together with a well packer to prevent the well from falling shut or simply to case off a bad stream. Please give us a call for a free estimate.

Hydrofracking

Hydrofracking uses a machine to inject water into a well under high pressure. This process opens up the aquifers to improve the production of the well.

Irrigation Wells

Irrigation wells are used by farmers to irrigate their crops. Sensenig & Weaver can drill 6”- 12” irrigation wells and install the pump.

Monitoring Wells

We work with engineering and environmental companies installing monitoring wells. Monitoring wells are used to obtain samplings of water to detect contamination and groundwater quality. We drill and develop 1”- 6” sand packed monitoring wells and 6”- 8” open hole monitoring wells. We also abandon monitoring wells that are no longer in use.

Well Abandonment

There can be times when there is an old well on a property that is no longer being used. The state of Pennsylvania requires that any such well be abandoned so that it doesn’t contaminate other wells being used in the area. We offer this service to any home/land owner in need of abandoning an old well.

Air Rotary Drilling

Air rotary drilling, the ideal method for advancing boreholes into consolidated bedrock formations, uses a rotary-driven drill bit and high-pressure, high-flow air. Typically, either a “tricone” cutting bit or a downhole percussion hammer is used to penetrate the rock surface and grind the rock into small particles. High-flow air is injected through the drill string, cooling the bit, evacuating rock cuttings from the borehole and stabilizing the borehole during drilling.

Mud Drilling

Mud drilling method is used when drilling conditions are unstable due to unconsolidated materials. The mud stabilizes the well long enough to insert the well casing or geo pipe down the hole.

Large Diameter

Using our large diameter hammer bits and axillary air units, Sensenig & Weaver is able to drill 8”-15” finished holes. These larger diameter wells are used for municipal wells and irrigation wells that require a larger pump or in areas of lower well yield for water storage.

Well Grouting

Well grouting is the process of filling the space that is left between the well casing and the surrounding earth after drilling. The purpose of this procedure is to prevent contaminates from entering the well. We use either Portland I cement or bentonite to grout the well casing. The product is mixed in our pressure grout machine and then pumped into the space starting at the bottom of the casing until it reaches ground surface. Please note that not every county in Pennsylvania requires pressure grouting.
